Garden of Gears

Garden of Gears asks you to grow a garden of clockwork plants, balancing water, sunlight, and little brass mechanisms that need winding. It's cozy and slow, and it leans into that fully. Progress happens in the background, so you check in a few times a day rather than sitting glued to it.

The interface is clean and the drag-and-drop planting feels good under a thumb. We appreciated that the timers were generous and never nagged us to come back with notifications every hour, though you can turn reminders on if you like that.

It sips battery, which is exactly what a check-in sim should do. There's not a huge amount of challenge here, but as a calming daily habit it earned its spot on our home screen.
